Research Project: COMPARISON OF FOOD FREQUENCY QUESTIONNAIRE TO OTHER DIETARY ASSESSMENT TOOLS AND MEASUREMENT OF RECALL REPEATABILITY

Location: Food Components and Health Laboratory

Project Number: 1235-51530-008-06
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Feb 02, 2004
End Date: Feb 01, 2009

Objective:
To evaluate a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) used in large, long-term epidemiologic studies compared to other dietary assessment tools and markers of risk for cardiovascular disease and cancer, and to determine variability of measurements over time.

Approach:
The food frequency questionnaire will be administered to over 500 individuals who have participated in a dietary intake, cardiovascular disease and cancer health assessment research study. A subset of the cohort will be reevaluated after at least one year to determine variability in long-term estimates of intake.
