Research Project: Evaluation of Soil Quality Parameters (Sqp) in Tropical Soils and Assessment of Elemental Composition in Tropical Crops

Location: Sustainable Perennial Crops

2005 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under a Specific Cooperative Agreement between ARS and the University of Florida. Additional details of research can be found in the report for project number 1275-21220-201-00D, Biological and Chemical Disease Control and Development of Agronomic Systems for Cacao and Alternative Crops. This agreement provides funds for the elemental analysis of soil and plant samples from cacao field sites in Bahia, Brazil and Tarapoto, Peru. In addition, funds are provided for soil and plant samples from studies of the effects of abiotic stress factors on cacao growth in both greenhouse and field studies. This agreement is still in its first year of activity. To date, analysis has been carried out on soil and plant samples from plant nutrition studies and CO2 studies carried out in Beltsville. The data are being analysed.
