Research Project: Redistribution of Melaleuca Weed Biological Control Agents and Development of New Agents for Lygodium and Various Other Weed Species

Objective:
Redistribute approved biological control agents for invasive weeds. Conduct overseas exploration to discover natural enemies associated with various weed species that impact U.S. agriculture and natural areas. Conduct quarantine host-specificity testing of potential biological control agents.

Approach:
Research will involve foreign exploration for new agents, testing for safety of potential agents, and redistribution of approved agents for biological weed control.
