Wounded Soldier returns to family

It was a sight that brought smiles not only to friends and coworkers, but also to complete strangers who stood nearby.
As Colorado Army National Guard Sgt. Martin “Marty” May walked into the terminal at Denver International Airport Nov. 25, the crowd before him erupted into applause and a resounding cheer broke the typical white noise in the massive room.
It was all for a man who paid an immense sacrifice for his service to his country.

One Colorado Army National Guardsman finds himself in a foreign land on a mission more than he bargained for

Colorado Army National Guard Staff Sgt. James Mars had a vague idea of what he’d be doing in Afghanistan. He knew he’d be training Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army, which sounded simple enough on paper, but all the training and planning in the world couldn’t prepare him for the mission that was ahead of him.

Flyovers

Gubernatorial flyovers utilizing National Guard aircraft can be approved by the state Adjutant General.  The flyover must occur at a patriotic junction during the actual inauguration ceremony.  States may not borrow aircraft from other states.  Aerial reviews in support of Inauguration ceremonies are prohibited
