Want to know how many radio or television stations are out there?  The Media Bureau releases counts for various classes of radio and television stations, four times a year. The totals are also available in an Excel spreadsheet listing AM, FM, and TV service licensed station totals.  The first column, which is the date that the totals were computed for, is also a link to the News Release that listed the totals.  (For totals between 1943 and 1952, please see the bottom of page 121 of the 1952 Annual Report to Congress, or open the Excel spreadsheet.)

For more information on AM and FM radio broadcasting, please visit the Audio Division website, and the Broadcast Radio Links page.  Additional lists and reports for radio are available at Broadcast Radio Lists and Reports.
