Attention AQUATOX Users with Windows XP:

It has come to our attention that the original EPA Release 2 Installshield may cause problems with some versions of Windows XP. While the AQUATOX Installshield was successfully tested on Windows XP many times prior to distribution, recently on a small number of Windows XP installations problems have arisen, specifically with the system file MSCVRT.DLL. It is clear that the manner in which the AQUATOX Installshield was updating certain system files is no longer appropriate. If you run into an error with MSCVRT.DLL please visit the following link.

A new Installshield has been produced that does not overwrite later-version system files if they exist. The Installshield file available on this page includes this change. The CDs are being re-printed and should be available soon.

Download AQUATOX Release 2

Installation Information
The model is downloaded as an Installshield file. By double-clicking the executable, the file will unzip and be installed on your Windows PC. Please follow the instructions from the Installshield.

Download AQUATOX Release 2
Release 2 (10.5MB). The Installshield file includes the AQUATOX model, example studies, and data libraries.

Note: these reports are from Release 1 and 1.1. They have not been re-done using the Release 2 code, so the model results would be somewhat different. But the overall results and conclusions should still be valid.

You can also order printed copies of the users guide, technical documentation and BASINS extension users manual from the National Service Center for Environmental Publications. Due to the potential problem with systems running Windows XP, we will be re-printing the CDs, and they should be available soon.
