      PROVIDING FOR CONSIDERATION OF MOTIONS TO SUSPEND THE RULES

  Ms. Slaughter, from the Committee on Rules, submitted the following

                              R E P O R T

                      [To accompany H. Res. 1167]

    The Committee on Rules, having had under consideration 
House Resolution 1167, by a nonrecord vote, report the same to 
the House with the recommendation that the resolution be 
adopted.

                SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS OF THE RESOLUTION

    The resolution authorizes the Speaker to entertain motions 
that the House suspend the rules at any time on the legislative 
day of May 1, 2008 relating to the following measures:
    (1) The bill (H.R. 5715) to ensure continued availability 
of access to the Federal student loan program for students and 
families.
    (2) The bill (H.R. 493) to prohibit discrimination on the 
basis of genetic information with respect to health insurance 
and employment.
    (3) A bill to provide for a temporary extension of programs 
authorized by the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 
2002.
